What it takes to be a Permanent Shift Manager

Our Permanent Shift Managers (also known as Duty Manager) work closely with the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager to help run all aspects of the store. Our Shift Managers love developing new skills, are proud of their workplace, and thrive in a hands-on, results-driven environment. To help get you there, we provide comprehensive online and hands-on training that covers the fundamentals of how to run a store. It’s important for our Shift Managers to be motivated and logical thinkers who use their initiative to lead from the front. We’re after people who are hungry to learn the ins and outs of a retail business and are keen to test their skills in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Learning all aspects of managing an ALDI store can be daunting and stressful at first. It takes hard work, early morning starts and late night finishes so you can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. As you grow in the program, there’s always the added managerial pressure of meeting store targets, so planning and organisational skills are a must. If you’re not a natural multi-tasker, this definitely isn’t the job for you.  

*Including superannuation. Figure is calculated based on $26.91 per hour (18 years and over) plus estimated penalty rates based on a typical Duty Manager roster. Salary will vary based on shifts worked and contracted hours.
