An opportunity for a Sustainability Coordinator has become available working in the Corporate Responsibility (CR) team, within the Buying department of ALDI Stores. This is a permanent full-time position.


The Sustainability Coordinator ensures compliance in relation to ethical sourcing throughout the supply chain. The role is responsible for collecting, reviewing and tracking remediation activities of social audit reports and certifications. They work together with the CR Manager to drive projects and new initiatives in the business. They act as a central point of communication between the CR department, the greater business and external stakeholders.


What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for CR and social compliance. They will have strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and confidently communicate information to all levels.


Selection Criteria:

  • 3 + years’ industry experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes is highly regarded
  • Passion for social compliance, including the social compliance process is essential
  • Knowledge of the Modern Slavery Act is favourable
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to apply sustainability principles and concepts in a business environment
  • Ability to conduct research on emerging social trends and the risks or opportunities they create for the business
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to learn new programs and good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Ability to take on responsibility, work autonomously and be flexible
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Support the delivery of accurate CR reporting
  • Request, follow up and review social audit reports and certifications within the required time frame
  • Track contracts to ensure policies and processes are implemented correctly
  • Support the development and maintenance of efficient CR systems and documentation
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Support the implementation of policies and processes
  • Manage the communication of new and established CR practises with all stakeholders
  • Liaise with international CR teams to share learnings
  • Support other CR team members where necessary
  • Provide general administrative support to the CR team


This role reports to the Corporate Responsibility Manager responsible for Social Compliance.
