An exciting new opportunity to support the establishment of the Commercial team has become available within the Corporate Buying department of ALDI Stores. This is a permanent full-time role based in Minchinbury NSW.


In this role, you will support the Commercial Director in the development and implementation of pricing and promotion strategies. While collaborating with the greater Buying team, you will be at the forefront of price optimisation projects, making recommendations and reporting on performance.


What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced pricing professional who demonstrates strong leadership, an ability to influence key stakeholders whilst also exhibiting strong strategic and analytical skills.  You will be detail orientated and delivery focused with a strong understanding of market activity, to provide accurate and timely data for strategic recommendations and decisions.


The key to success in this role will be your proven ability to execute commercial strategies and provide best industry practice to better the ALDI offering while also challenging the status quo.


Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications within a relevant field
  • Minimum 3+ years’ management experience with 2+ years’ experience within a commercial pricing role (ideally within FMCG)
  • Experience in the development and management of pricing models and forecasts
  • Proven knowledge of pricing techniques and the ability to translate business and market impacts
  • Prior experience executing transformation programs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with SQL and data visualisation experience highly regarded
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent time management

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pricing and promotions team through the development and execution of pricing model strategies
  • Identify and implement business opportunities, by utilising historical performance and price elasticity
  • Develop and utilise market intelligence to maximise decision making and drive customer-centric initiatives
  • Perform data driven analysis and modelling on large data sets resulting in actionable outcomes
  • Prepare and present results, insights and recommendations to key stakeholders including senior management
  • Report on pricing and promotional performance to measure strategy effectiveness
  • Use appropriate data visualisation techniques to present complex analysis

This role reports to the Commercial Director.
