An exciting opportunity to join the Quality Assurance Corporate Kitchen has become available within the National Buying Department at Aldi Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full time role.

 

As a Lunch Chef, you will be responsible for the daily preparation, cooking and serving of lunches to senior stakeholders. This role also involves budget management and menu development using products exclusive to Aldi.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic commercial kitchen, which caters for up to 40 individuals in one service (per day across all business days). With a creative flare and demonstrated ability to maintain flavour, you will be able to deliver high quality meals. You will be a confident chef/cook able to manage high pressure situations whilst maintaining focus. 

 

Selection Criteria:

  • 5+ years’ experience as Chef/Cook in a commercial kitchen
  • Trade qualification within relevant industry desirable
  • Experience cooking high quality meals in large volumes
  • Previous experience in menu preparation and recipe development
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management
  • Ability to work autonomously without the help of kitchen hands
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritise
  • Ability to maintain focus in high pressure situations
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with senior leadership
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and  prepare menus for daily lunches
  • Manage a set budget to order and maintain kitchen ingredients/stock
  • Prepare, cook and serve daily lunches for up to 50 senior stakeholders
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working space whilst preparing meals
  • Clean and tidy up kitchen area, utensils and equipment after service
  • Cater for ad hoc internal events including breakfasts, morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas
  • Provide support to the wider Corporate Kitchen team as required

 

 

This role reports to the Corporate Kitchen Team Leader.
