A new opportunity for a Systems Analyst (Application Developer) has become available within the Corporate Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury.  This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.

 

As a Systems Analyst you will be responsible for the development, management and maintenance of applications in C#, including the migration of current systems from Excel VBA to C# desktop applications. You will also work on various projects assigned to the Buying Analytics team, employing Agile and Scrum methodologies to ensure successful execution and alignment with other buying departments.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will be a highly proficient C# .NET developer, experienced in writing .NET Framework desktop applications and confident in software architectural design. With a computer science background, an understanding of how to work in an agile team to enhance applications from provided user specifications is key to this role.  A solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and SQL are imperative, and experience with JavaScript, Python, VBA and the retail landscape are desirable.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a C#.NET desktop application developer
  • Tertiary education within computer science or another relevant field essential
  • Experience working within the retail landscape highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in code migration projects
  • Strong competency in SQL
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum project management methodology
  • Experience of software design and architectural planning
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
  • Ability to work independently and act on innovative ideas
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Desire to learn new processes and systems

Role responsibilities:

  • Support the Buying Department by developing and managing applications in C#
  • Lead the development of VBA to C# migration project
  • Maintain applications and troubleshoot issues when necessary
  • Enhance current tools and applications to ensure positive user experience
  • Employ Agile and Scrum methodologies to successfully execute assigned projects
  • Create and maintain automated unit testing

 

This role reports to the Manager - Buying Analytics
