An exciting opportunity for an Executive Manager - Corporate Responsibility has become available within the National Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.


As an Executive Manager CR, you will lead a team focused on executing ALDI Australia’s energy and environment strategies while working closely with many other functions within our business, and international CR colleagues. The successful candidate will be passionate about sustainability, providing effective consultancy and delivering initiatives that develop and achieve ALDI’s environmental objectives. 


What we are looking for:

Managing the energy, environmental sustainability and waste pillars, you will have a strong understanding of sustainability and related topics within the local and global environment. Liaising with the international ALDI business, along with internal and external stakeholders you will support the Director - Corporate Responsibility in the research, development and implementation of company policies and initiatives.


Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in energy and environmental sustainability topics is essential
  • Knowledge of sustainable waste management highly regarded
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing energy management, carbon and waste reduction strategies
  • Experience and understanding of the Australian regulatory framework and relevant standards (i.e. NGERS, ISO 50001)
  • Previous experience executing change management initiatives
  • Experience in or knowledge of mechanical systems and infrastructure considered favourably
  • Ability to monitor and report on sustainability performance
  • Demonstrated people management and coaching skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to manage projects
  • Ability to apply sustainability objectives while balancing commercial needs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Role Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the continuous development of ALDI’s national sustainability framework
  • Implement ALDI’s national energy, carbon and other environmental strategies
  • Monitor energy, waste, building and infrastructure initiatives to assess sustainability performance
  • Manage national and international sustainability reporting functions for the local  business
  • Develop benchmarks, conduct analysis and present findings
  • Collaborate with the international business to development strategy and share learning
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with ALDI standards
  • Ongoing development of direct reports


This role reports to the Director - Corporate Responsibility.
