Two Fresh Produce Buying Assistant positions have become available within the Corporate Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. 

 

What we are looking for:

The Fresh Produce Buying Assistant works within a fast paced, highly administrative and ever-changing environment. Being highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to build strong supplier relationships is essential to being successful in this challenging and rewarding role. Previous buying experience within a fresh produce category is highly regarded, although not essential.

 

Selection criteria:

  • Buying Assistant experience in a fresh produce category is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to adapt in high stress situations.
  • Experience in liaising and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Comprehensive administrative experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to learn new programs and processes.
  • High level of professionalism and dedication.
  • Ability to take on responsibility and work autonomously.

Role responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Buying Manager in sourcing, coordinating and evaluating the fresh produce category.
  • Heavy involvement in the daily deliveries of fresh produce.
  • Involvement with new product development.
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with various suppliers.
  • Online comping on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate the weekly tendering process between suppliers and the Produce Buying Managers.
  • Specification compliance and preparation for weekly catalogue sign off.
  • Stock forecasting and planning.
  • Support with artwork implementation.
  • Assist in problem solving and product delivery/process issues.
  • Preparing information required for produce sampling and category reviews.
  • Maintain confidential product and supplier records.
  • Assist the Buying Manager in all secretarial and administrative requirements.

 

This role reports to the Produce Buying Manager.
