An opportunity for two Senior NPD Specialist/Analyst working in the Quality Assurance team has become available within the Corporate Buying Department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury.

This highly technical role is responsible for providing new product development consultation and advice for complex food and formulated categories.

 

What we are looking for:

We are searching for senior quality professional with extensive NPD experience within a manufacturing environment. They will have a thorough understanding of the commercialisation of products, with the ability to identify and provide effective solutions for technical NPD issues such as factory limitations. Candidates with experience in dairy or bakery categories are highly regarded.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Be a subject matter expert for technical NPD topics
  • Consult with Buying teams, QA team, Suppliers and technical service providers to develop and communicate QA requirements
  • Provide advice and suggestions to the Buying teams and suppliers to continuously improve ALDI branded products
  • Support the NPD tender process
  • Develop product performance requirements and support the implementation into contracts
  • Support the implementation of QA processes
  • Ensure ALDI branded products are compliant with mandatory standards and ALDI requirements
  • Keep the Buying team informed of changing compliance requirements/standards
  • Management of external testing laboratories and technical service providers
  • Support the development of training programs and conduct training of new staff
  • Facilitate product compliance testing including external and internal testing
  • Coordinate quality assurance projects
  • Liaise with the Customer Service Department on complaint trends

Selection criteria:

  • Degree within a relevant field such as Food Science
  • Extensive NPD experience within a manufacturing environment with understanding of factory limitations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to provide solutions and advice to all stakeholders regarding quality topics
  • Experience in development of product specifications
  • Experience in performing quality assessments of products
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant Australian regulations
  • Experience in regulatory and product label compliance
  • A strong understanding of chemical and microbiological testing
  • Ability to communicate with regulatory agencies
  • Experienced in technical investigation and report writing
  • Dairy or bakery category experience is highly regarded

 

This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
