Graduate Training Program

No other graduate program offers such a high level of responsibility so quickly. This intensive 14-month course covers every aspect of retail management, including: store operations, team leadership, purchasing, financial administration, logistics and property management. Demanding and uncompromising, this program requires significant effort and flexibility to complete but we will support you along the way. 

Graduate Training Program Overview

  1. Weeks 1-2

    Welcome to ALDI! Join forces with an experienced Area Manager who will mentor you throughout your training. You’ll also receive the keys to your company car!

  2. Weeks 3 - 7

    Your intensive in-store training starts now! This on the shop floor experience will well equip you in understanding ‘a day in the life’ of your team members and get you closer to the customer

  3. Weeks 8 - 15

    Learn all aspects of running a successful ALDI store and manage every aspect of its operations

  4. Weeks 16 - 17

    Consolidate your understanding of Store Operations by running a store as a Store Manager. Showcase your leadership skills by motivating the team to achieve positive results

  5. Week 18 - 19

    Gain an insight into warehousing and distribution by working in your home Region Distribution Centre

  6. Weeks 20 - 27

    Another opportunity to manage a store and showcase your skills

  7. Weeks 28 - 29

    Enjoy 2 weeks Annual Leave

  8. Weeks 30 - 32

    Learn all aspects of what it takes to be an ALDI Area Manager

  9. Weeks 33 - 35

    Further Area Manager training

  10. Weeks 36 - 37

    Another block of training to set you up for the Area Manager role

  11. Week 38

    Complete a project and present your findings to the Regional Director Team

  12. Week 39

    From quality control to liaising with suppliers, you'll learn everything about our product range. You will also gain insights into store design and property development

  13. Weeks 40 - 42

    Under the guidance of an Area Manager, put your training into practice by running various portfolios of 3 - 5 stores

  14. Weeks 43 - 46

    Put your skills to the test by taking full control of an area

  15. Weeks 47 - 48

    Two weeks Annual Leave to relax and recharge

  16. Weeks 49 - 50

    Work alongside your mentor to fine tune your management skills

  17. Weeks 51 - 54

    Continue your management training and keep an entire area of stores running efficiently

  18. Weeks 55 - 58

    Another opportunity to showcase your skills by managing a group of stores

  19. Weeks 59 - 60

    A well-deserved break!

    You’re now equipped to take on your own 3-5 stores!
