About the Role

Grow your career with a global retailer as a Commercial Analyst within our Buying team at ALDI Australia, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

In this pivotal role, you will join a team that is at the heart of what makes ALDI unique: our products. As part of the Buying team, you will be involved in promoting the execution of the overall pricing strategy by providing trusted advice and insights to key stakeholders. Driving and supporting the delivery of successful business outcomes through the development of detailed analytical reports and insights.

What do we need from you

  • 2+ years of experience in pricing analysis and retail industry, preferably supermarkets
  • Deep understanding of pricing data.
  • Experience in analysing market trends, and competitive price movements.
  • Analytics experience in time series, quantitative and qualitative analytics, statistical methods, and mathematical modelling techniques.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and 2+ years hands on experience essential.
  • Experience working with large datasets and database querying languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop and PySpark.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming language and its packages for data analysis and statistical modelling (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib).
  • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub for code collaboration and management.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure for scalable computing and data storage solutions.
  • Experience with SAP for enterprise resource planning and data management especially around price management including SAP S/4HANA .
  • Knowledgeable in pricing science with deep understanding of price elasticities dynamics and its use in retail pricing.
  • Proficiency in visualisation tools including Tableau and Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner with various levels of stakeholders in various levels of technical understanding.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Revionics pricing software business intelligence tools, and data.

Remuneration

  • Transparent tiered salary of $129,300 including Superannuation.
