Job Description

Looking to develop your professional career with a well-respected global leader? We’re seeking a dedicated Communications Specialist to join our Corporate Communications team at ALDI stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time position.

Our Specialists support all stages of the communications process including strategy, planning and execution across various topics that support ALDI’s position as a responsible retailer. The right person for this role will have experience in corporate communications and a good understanding of the Australian political and social climate.

What does the role look like? 

  • Work with the Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Manager on sustainability communications, government relations and industry engagement
  • Develop and drive corporate and sustainability campaigns with communications expertise
  • Create corporate communication narratives and develop materials across channels including industry newsletters and LinkedIn
  • Monitor the external environment for potential reputational issues or business challenges
  • Create and execute written content
  • Plan and execute events and conferences
  • Produce monthly reporting and presentations
  • Partner with internal teams to understand issues and identify opportunities for storytelling
  • Manage agencies and build relationships with external stakeholder

Qualifications

What do we need from you?

  • Strong experience in communications either inhouse or agency with experience working across multiple communications topics and activations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong understanding of the Australian political and social climate  
  • An enthusiastic and proactive approach to work - thinking beyond the scope of your task
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work cross functionally with agencies and internal teams
  • Ability to think critically and strategically with good analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or similar is desirable
