About the Role

An exciting opportunity for an assistant has become available in our Legal, Risk & Compliance Team within the National Finance & Administration department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

The National Legal, Risk & Compliance Team is responsible for offering guidance and advice on legal matters including employment law, commercial and contract law, intellectual property, competition and consumer law, and other regulatory issues. They ensure that the business comply with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements. By providing legal and administrative support to the broader business, the team plays a vital role in protecting ALDI’s legal interests.

What does the role look like? 

  • Assist with triaging of legal requests from business units, maintaining meticulous records of legal advice to support informed decision-making and legal compliance.
  • Provide high-level data entry, processing, manipulation and analytics using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Microsoft Excel, to assist in legal data management and reporting.
  • Stay up to date with current and upcoming regulations, ensuring that all operations align with legal requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the wider legal team by distributing legal communications, managing email inboxes, updating company policies and procedures to reflect legal and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing legal guidance and support to both local and international teams to facilitate aligned legal standards.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to legal processes and systems, contributing to the enhancement of existing platforms and procedures.

What do we need from you

  • Proven experience in a legal and administrative role, ideally within a corporate environment.
  • Prior legal knowledge, particularly within a corporate setting, with demonstrated expertise in legal matters, emphasising adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in data extraction, maintenance and analysis ensuring compliance with organisational standards and legal regulations.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with a track record of working effectively alongside internal teams, stakeholders, and external legal service partners.
  • A motivated self-starter with strong business acumen and prior legal knowledge, particularly within contract and employment law, who can work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • The ability to differentiate and prioritise competing demands with a clear understanding of legal implications while keeping the broader organisational context in mind.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work culture, grounded in professionalism and integrity typical of a legal corporate setting.

Remuneration

  • Transparent tiered salary range of $99,700 - $110,800 including Superannuation.
