Grow your career with a global retailer as a Payroll Assistant within our Payroll team at ALDI Australia, based in Minchinbury. This is a fixed term opportunity until December 2025.
In this role, you will join the team tasked with ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and benefits. Beyond simply managing transactions, this role supports our most valuable asset - our people. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with labour laws, managing superannuation, and overseeing all employee-related financial transactions.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, this role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of our Region Payroll. To be successful in the role, we require an experienced, forward thinking and driven payroll professional to contribute to our fast-paced and dynamic team.
What does the role look like?
- Accurate delivery of fortnightly payroll for 1700 + employees
- Processing payroll related payments for PAYG tax, authorised payroll deductions, superannuation and parental leave
- Setting up new starters and processing terminations
- Administer the payroll inbox and action all requests and queries or escalate accordingly
- Providing advice regarding Award / EA interpretation and other relevant payroll legislation
- Maintaining employee records
- Preparing and remitting monthly reporting
- Preparing employee contracts and letters as requested
- Ad-hoc duties as required
What do we need from you?
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a payroll department
- Previous experience in Chris21/iChris highly regarded
- Previous experience with time & attendance systems highly regarded
- Strong experience in onboarding, terminations and calculating LSL payments
- Exceptional attention to detail and great time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Intermediate-advance Microsoft Office skills (Excel)
- Good communication skills
