Job Description
ALDI Australia has a strong reputation for providing consumers with high quality products at affordable prices and values integrity, transparency, and creativity. Make a good difference with ALDI by joining us as a Quality Assurance Specialist within our National Buying Department, based in Minchinbury. This position is a 12-month fixed term contract.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist you will play an essential part in assessing and enhancing the quality of food products across various categories. Through testing, researching and product development you will provide our Buying teams with effective recommendations for continuous improvement of food products and ensure we continue to deliver to our customers.
What does the role involve?
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, communicate and update QA requirements in accordance with ALDI standards and legislation
- Provide technical consultancy to the wider Buying teams
- Develop product performance requirements and ensure implementation into contracts
- Liaise with the suppliers’ QA teams, testing laboratories and Buying teams on technical enquiries
- Work with the Buying teams and suppliers to continuously improve ALDI branded products
- Facilitate product compliance testing including external and internal testing
- Coordinate quality assurance projects
- Liaise with the Customer Service Department on complaint trends
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance within FMCG or food manufacturing industry
- Extensive practice of chemical and microbiological testing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of Australian regulations and experience liaising with Regulatory Agencies
- Previous experience performing quality assessments and developing product specifications for food and beverage products
- Understanding of regulatory and product label compliance
- Experienced in technical investigation and report writing
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as Food Science is desired

This role reports into the Executive Manager - Quality Assurance.
