Job Description

Grow your career with a global retailer as a Safety Coordinator within our Work, Health, and Safety team at ALDI Australia, based in, Jandakot.  This is a full-time permanent position. 

In this role, you will join a team that stands as the cornerstone of ALDI's commitment to safety. Our Workplace Safety and Health team does more than just abide by rules and regulations; we create them, prioritising the well-being of our employees above all else. Our responsibilities range from developing and implementing health and safety policies to identifying and mitigating potential risks, ensuring that our workers operate in a safe, healthy environment each and every day.

You will have the opportunity to not only protect our staff but also to create an atmosphere of care and mindfulness across the business. Your work will directly impact the lives of our employees, promoting a culture of safety that extends beyond the workplace.

What does the role look like? 

  • Provide technical guidance and advice on health and safety matters by interpreting legislative requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, periodic audits and site visits, and develop Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) as directed
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders through consultation, training, and development
  • Respond to WHS incidents for the region, and actively manage your area of responsibility within the team by using initiative, and suggesting ways of improving systems for greater efficiency
  • Assist in the maintenance and periodic review of the WHS Management system, Safety Online and the Contractor Management System
  • Analyse and report on safety data to monitor and review performance against WHS KPIs and targets
  • Assist with injury management activities if required

Qualifications

What do we need from you?

  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in WHS with detailed knowledge of WHS requirements, legislation and best practice
  • Team focused with a solutions-focused approach and ability to collaborate and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Open communication style with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and with direction
  • Qualifications in WHS required
  • Injury management experience, or a willingness to learn, highly regarded
