Job Description

Grow your career with a global retailer as an Analyst within our Buying team at ALDI Australia, based in Minchinbury. This is a 12-month Fixed term contract position.

In this pivotal role, you will join a team that is at the heart of what makes ALDI unique: our products. As part of the Buying team, you will be involved in the journey of our products, from conception to our store shelves.

What does the role look like? 

  • Develop and maintain processes and automated tools to ensure best practice is built and executed at a National level
  • Use SQL to build and maintain Special Buys program tools and reporting
  • Utilise data visualisation tools to communicate complex insights
  • Perform fact based, data driven analysis and modelling on significant amounts of data for the purpose of turning it into actionable information required to drive key business decisions
  • Ensure the delivery and maintenance of end-to-end solutions
  • Develop an expert understanding of business systems
  • Identify and recommend new ways to streamline business processes
  • Contribute to a high performing, national function
  • Problem solving real business challenges
  • Providing any other support as required by the Executive Manager to support the broader Buying Department

Qualifications

What do we need from you?

  • Commercial experience in a business/data analysis role
  • Strong competency in SQL
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Fundamental knowledge of database systems and data modelling with proven experience in manipulating and analysing complex data sets
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and strong focus on data quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical ideas to relevant business stakeholders
